According to the type of the problem (linear or non linear), we use repectively sensitivity type optimisation or design of experiments.

Example 1: Steel Part

6 design parameters : 2 radius and 4 thicknesses. Each design parameter has an upper and an lower limit. Method used : sensitivity analysis

 

Example 2 : Very long seal

With BUD3D inverse optimization method, you can automatically find a geometry corresponding to specific sealing properties (stiffness curve). Method used for this kind of problems : design of experiments

6 design parameters : e1, e2, e3, e4, r and R3. Objective : minimize strain energy max.

With BudOpt integrated into the tyre designing system "Tdesign", it is possible to optimize tyres automatically.
